The Technical SEO Checklist to Rank Higher in 2026

1. Core Web Vitals

Google ranks fast sites higher. Aim for:

• LCP under 2.5s
• INP under 200ms
• CLS under 0.1

Server rendering, image optimization and lazy-loading heavy assets (like 3D) get you there.

2. Crawlability & indexing

• A clean robots.txt that doesn't block important pages.
• An auto-generated sitemap.xml.
• Canonical URLs on every page to avoid duplicate content.

3. Structured data

Schema.org markup helps search engines understand your content and unlocks rich results. At minimum, add:

• Organization and WebSite
• LocalBusiness if you serve a region
• BreadcrumbList and Article where relevant

4. Semantic HTML

One <h1> per page, a logical heading hierarchy, descriptive link text and proper landmarks. Accessibility and SEO are two sides of the same coin.

5. Metadata hygiene

Unique, compelling titles and descriptions. OpenGraph and Twitter cards so your links look great when shared.
